Wet and Wild: Mini Burn Course Update
As many of you will have noticed, we’ve had a morning of heavy downpours here at the Mini Burn venue. The rain has certainly made the course wet and challenging, adding an extra element of adventure for all our competitors!
Keeping a Close Eye on the Weather
We’re monitoring conditions closely using data from the nearest professional weather station, located just a few kilometres from the race site. You can check out the live updates for yourself here: Holfuy Weather Station.
Over the past 48 hours, we’ve recorded 12.8mm of rain—and with more showers forecast, it’s safe to say the course will remain slick for the time being. For the latest forecasts, we recommend visiting Weather-Forecast.com.
Warm Temperatures, Slippery Surfaces
The good news is that temperatures are staying very mild, so there’s less risk of cold-related issues. However, we want to stress that surfaces which are usually grippy when dry can become VERY slippery when wet. Please use extreme caution while running and riding—take your time and stay safe!
Important Note for the Second Bike Phase
A highlight of the course is the fun single-track descent past Penllyn Castle through the woods. With the current conditions, this section will be especially treacherous. We strongly advise all competitors to dismount and walk any parts of the descent where you do not feel 100% confident riding. Safety always comes first!
Stay Informed, Stay Safe
We’ll continue to monitor the weather and keep you updated with any changes. Huge thanks to Weather-Forecast and Holfuy for helping us stay up-to-date with accurate weather information.
Embrace the mud, ride with care, and let’s make this a Mini Burn to remember!
