Mini Burn - Penllyn Estate
In all the years of organising Mini Burn, I can confidently say this was the muddiest, wettest, and windiest event we've ever experienced. Yet almost 150 people from 58 families turned up to take on the challenge and experience a Mini Burn.
Mini Burners are certainly a unique kind of people as they have an innate ability to tolerate Type II fun, are determined to give their children every opportunity under the sun, never give up, and always support one another. It is an honour to witness.
Despite the weather, the smiles, teamwork, perseverance, and sense of community were stronger than ever. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible – our competitors, the venue, and of course, my incredible team. You remind me every year what Mini Burn is really all about. 💚

January Burn Trail Run - Llantrithyd Deer Park
With 64 runners signed up—close to full capacity. What began as a non-muddy course quickly transformed into a full-blown mud bath, delivering proper off-road conditions and plenty of smiles.
Most runners were treated to deer sightings, with several reporting a stag too—always a special moment and a reminder of just how unique this course is. Even more exciting, two junior runners placed in the Top 3 on the one-lap course, highlighting the incredible talent coming through and the huge potential of our younger athletes. Mud, wildlife, and future champions—this one had it all.

Over 50 brave runners came out to tackle either a 2.5km (one lap) or 5km (two lap) course around the beautiful and historic Llantrithyd Deer Park, home to 200 deer. Plenty of festive fancy dress, Rudolph Antlers and toasted marshamallows made for a very merry morning!
