Welcome to the Monthly Burn Trail Runs in 2026
The Burn Trail Run takes place on the last Saturday of every month at Llantrithyd Park, beginning at 10AM. Choose from one lap (approx 2.3km) Two laps (approx 4.6km) or 4 laps (9.2km).
There will be no Trail Runs in July or August due to the holiday period. The October Trail Run will be a special event called the Spooky Burn, and the December Trail Run will be a festive edition known as the Rudolph's Burn. Please note that Rudolph's Burn will take place before Christmas.
What to expect
The venue, Llantithyd Park, is a private historic estate and home to three herds of deer: Fallow, Red, and Sika.
The run follows the full circumference of the park along the park’s shelterbelt. It is a 4x4-wide track, mainly grass, but expect mud, lumps, and bumps along the way. You will see the whole park and hopefully spot some deer along the way.
The run is held on an informal basis and starts at 10am on the last Saturday of each month.
There is a selection of distances to choose from:
-
One lap (approx. 2.3km)
-
Two laps (approx. 4.6km)
-
Four laps (approx. 9.2km)
Each lap involves approximately 51 metres of climbing.
This is a great opportunity to mix up your regular weekly Park runs. You can challenge yourself or run against others. We have set up a Strava group for each of the three distances above, so if you record your run, you'll receive a PB on this course. You can either focus on improving on this or find out how you stack up against other runners. Make sure to join us below.
There are two events in the series which will be run as “special events”. These are the Spooky Burn Trail Run, which takes place in October, and Rudolph’s Burn Trail Run, which takes place in December. Each of these runs will be held as full events, with professional timing, music, prizes, medals, and much more.
