To help you with your planning, I thought it might be useful to take a look at last year's results from the Mini Burn Family Adventure Race at Penllyn Estate, based on the age categories.
It seems that the 7-11yr old category is not only the most competitive category in terms of the number of participants (currently we have 114 participants in this category), but they also seem to be the fastest. Last year, Team Wildebeests flew the course in 1hr 16 mins and 11 secs!
Grant & Archie Griffiths of Team Griffy conquered the course in 1hr 37 mins and 20 secs in the category family junior 12-17yrs old.
There was a brilliant performance by the Clarke family who completed the course in 1hr, 53 mins, and 7 secs.
Even our over 18's team, 'If found please return to the bar!', managed to get around our course to win their category in just under 2 hours!
These were all the winning times for the relevant categories, with the slowest time of the day being 2hrs 40 mins.
Just remember, you have all day to get around the course, and you can choose whether to do all phases one after the other or take a well-earned rest in between.
With the Hog Roast at the event centre (Veggie options too!), it's well worth spending the whole day.
