Collect your Sport Ident timing chip and race maps.
Proceed to the transition area for bike placement and follow marshal directions.
Maps: You will be given a detailed map at registration with all checkpoint locations clearly marked. The start and finish locations will be indicated by a triangle, and checkpoints will be represented by circles with corresponding numbers.
3. Route
Phase 1: Run & Kayak
Run: There are 13 checkpoints. The locations will be marked on the map you receive at registration. It’s free route choice, so you can plan your own path, but we expect only a few competitors to collect all checkpoints. The map below shows the area you'll be covering during this phase.
Kayak: This phase can be done at any point during the run. It’s on a small lake in Margam Park, with two loops required. Marker buoys are in each corner of the lake, and you must go around these. You’ll be given a buoyancy aid and paddle and allocated a kayak based on your team size. Solo racers will receive a single kayak, pairs a double kayak, and teams with an odd number of racers will have a combination.
Follow the marshals’ instructions at the lake. Please return your buoyancy aids and paddles before punching your timing chip at the designated control point near the take-out location.
We recommend spending no more than 2 hours on this phase.
Phase 2: Bike
There are 16 checkpoints spread across varying terrain. The checkpoints and start/finish locations will be marked on the map. As with the run phase, it’s a free route choice, and only a few competitors are expected to collect all checkpoints. The map below shows the area you'll be covering during this phase.
