Cost: £45.00 per person – Pair, £40 per person – Solo

Venue: Llandaff Rowing Club, Cardiff, South Wales, CF5 2PT

Category: Male pairs, female pairs, mixed pairs, solo/own kayak. (juniors must race with a responsible adult, 18+)

Date: 28th October, 2012

Race start time: 10.00am

Registration opens: 8.30am

Distance & phases: Approximate distances are  10km running, 30km biking & 3km kayaking. There will also be a special phase.

Foot phase: The run will be a 10km out and back loop along paths, trails and a small section of road. It is a flat run with one check point at the furthest point.

Cycling phase: This year the cycling phase will be run as a mountain bike orienteering stage where the maximum distance will be 30km. It will be on a combination of trails, hard and soft packed, a small section of road but plenty of climbing and descending. You will be given a detailed map which will feature check points and clues. 

Kayaking phase: The kayaking will be on the Taff River and will be a maximum of 3km. Again there will be a check point at the furthest point

Special phase: This will be disclosed closer to the event!

Cut offs: Those that are not back from the cycling phase by 3pm and have not done the kayaking will not be allowed onto the water.

Bike Hire: The following companies hire bikes in South Wales. Skyline cycles, Afan Valley bike hire, PS Cycles, Black Mountain Activities

Parking:  There is pay and display parking in and around Llandaff such as The Cathedral Green. Please do not park at the Rowing Club as it will cause congestion – thanks!

Spectator entertainment: If you don’t fancy taking part but still want a day out, there will be plenty going on at our event centre in Llandaff Rowing club. If you are bringing family and friends to support you, then the event centre is a great viewing point because you will be passing through it four times during the event. We will also have plenty of spectator activities going on and Llandaff Rowing Club has some excellent facilities to enjoy.

Catering: Once again we will ensure to provide some excellent catering on the finish line. Coffee Expressions will be there with plenty of hot and cold food and drink to choose from.
